How to Use Peeker's Advantage in Valorant

In online tactical shooters, Peeker's Advantage is a fundamental network mechanic. It dictates that a player moving around a corner will see a stationary player holding an angle slightly before the defender can see them.

Here is how you can use this mechanic to win more offensive gunfights.

1. The Angle Distance Rule

Your distance from the wall corner determines when you become visible. If you are standing closer to the corner than your opponent, they will see your shoulder before you see their screen. Always step back from corners when holding or peeking an angle.

Tips for Peeking Advantage:

  • Never Hold Angles Static: Keep micro-strafing (using A-D keys) to remain a moving target.
  • Wide Swings: Swing wide on common angles to break your opponent's crosshair placement.
  • Prefire: Shoot at common angles without waiting to register the enemy on your screen.

2. The Latency Factor

Higher ping values (within reason) actually increase peeker's advantage when you swing aggressively. Conversely, it makes holding angles passive very punishing. Adjust your playstyle dynamically based on your current network ping.
