How to Entry Frag Like a Radiant: The Complete Duelist Playbook

The hardest job in Valorant is being the first player to cross the chokepoint into a fortified bomb site. A great entry fragger doesn't necessarily get 3 kills every round; their primary objective is to break enemy crosshair placement, draw defensive utility, and create space so teammates can trade frags and secure the plant.
This comprehensive duelist playbook covers the exact entry pathing, utility synchronization, and spatial awareness required to entry frag at a Radiant level.
1. Creating Space vs. Hunting Kills
Many lower-rank duelists make the fatal mistake of stopping at the chokepoint (like B Main on Ascent) waiting for a pick. If you stop, the entire execute stalls, and enemy rotators trap your team in a narrow corridor.
The Golden Rules of Entry:
- Commit to the Dash/Satchel: Once your initiator calls their flash or recon, you must explode onto the site instantly. Never hesitate.
- Break Common Crosshairs: Path your movement toward deep site areas (like Back Site or Switch) to force defenders to turn their backs to your trailing teammates.
- Communicate Your Path: Tell your second-in-command exactly where you are pathing (e.g., "Dashing into smoke on B stairs, trade me from lane").
2. Synchronizing with Initiators
An entry fragger going in without initiator support is just a flying target. You must establish a verbal contract with your Sova, Fade, Kayo, or Skye before the barrier drops.
- The Flash Combo: Wait for the Kayo/Skye flash to pop behind you before initiating your movement swing.
- The Recon Dart Bait: Let the Sova dart land on the back wall. Defenders will instinctively look up to shoot the dart—that is the exact millisecond you swing them.
- Prowler / Dog Escort: Follow directly behind a Fade Prowler or Skye Trailblazer. If the creature gets shot, instantly swing and kill the distracted defender.
3. Map-Specific Entry Pathing
Every bomb site has an optimal entry trajectory that minimizes your exposure to multiple 50/50 angles:
- Ascent A Site: Dash/Satchel directly onto the Generator or into the green boxes to isolate players hiding in Wine or Under Heaven.
- Bind B Site: Satchel out of Hookah directly into Tube or Back Site, completely bypassing the dangerous close-left corner under Hookah window.
4. The Mental Resilience of an Entry Fragger
You will die. A lot. If you look at the stats of world-class entry fraggers like Derke or zekken, their First Death stats are often high. Do not let negative K/D impact your confidence. If your entry creates a 4v3 post-plant advantage for your team, you did your job perfectly.
